3月11日、ドジャースのデーブ・ロバーツ監督により、佐々木朗希が東京での開幕シリーズにおいて、2戦目で先発することが発表された。佐々木朗希が日本でドジャースデビューすることに対して、ドジャースファンからは歓迎の声が多く挙がっている。
